Inspiration

The prison was inspired by a number of Japanese and American nurtures and role-playing games, such as Persona 5, Detroit:Become human, For the Kings, and so on.
Difference

There are a lot of prison games out there, like Escape, but most of these games' goals are to escape from prison. Therefore, "Prison" is a very novel idea in terms of the prison genre - considering the fact that most of the games are trying to depict an escape experience from prison. However, "Prison" tries to stimulate a prison life as truly as
Playtest & Prototype

When we were thinking about what kind of game to make, it occurred to me that maybe it would be cool to make a game that simulates prison life, so I said to the rest of our team, why don't we make a prison simulator
After the majority vote, we started talking about what this Prison theme game should look like and why it's going to be a cool game. We believe that the most important thing is to restore a real prison life, including the prison's interpersonal relationships, maps, facilities, daily routines, and activities.
Core Mechanics
Narrative - driven
Prison is a narrative-driven game, where you encounter different events as you progress through the game, some of which are random events that give you a reward for completing, and some of which are choices-based events that diverge the storyt lines into different branches.

Formative Elements
he game contains a formative element, in which the player can play the story of the game and decide to work on which activities, which can increase points in different aspects, during their free period.

Problems
We met with a series of problems in the early development stage because the game's prototype was developed during a game jam. Therefore, time is not enough because we have to make different storylines and different endings. In fact, we fail to make different storylines during the game because of the limited time. In addition, we also encountered some UI issues, for example, the UI did not scale with the screen after the screen was zoomed, resulting in UI overlap, etc
Map Design

We restored the story of a prisoner based on the movies and some shows, and build our prison maps based on some published - fictional or true maps of the prison on the Internet, we restored a prison map as our main menu page
In addition, prison emergencies, facilities, and prisoners' schedules are also being made based on these movies and shows.
